Rides this week: 4
Miles this week: 93.75
Weekly Average: 2.8
Public transport days: 1
Oyster costs: £8.00
A short explanation of the above ‘weekly average’ statistic is required. It is lower than I would have wanted for the time of year because of two accidents which have kept me off the bike. In particular the first one which put me in hospital with bursitis.
It has been very windy this week. According to Carol Kirkwood on the BBC it has been much worse in the North andScotland . On the blogs there have been stories of trees down, blocking roads and general travel unpleasantness. It has made cycling this week less than brilliant. Hmmm nasty.

During my two periods of recuperation after the accidents mentioned above I have had to rely on public transport. I have an Oyster Card for my non-cycling days. I have generally found this a very convenient method of paying for my commuting costs. This week I checked my Oyster Bill and found various errors recorded – failed to book in/out. I phoned TfL ready to go into war with them about my overpayments. They were very helpful and refunded me about £7 for three or four journeys with no trouble at all. So that was a nice surprise.
Didn’t take the bike on Thursday due the Aldersgate COI Annual Dinner on the Hispaniola . Lovely evening; food was excellent.
Mrs Brenda yT, my ever suffering wife, has had a difficult week. How she yearns for her retirement; just a year away now.
The US president – Barack Obama – has been in town this week. A successful visit if the press are to be believed. You’d just love to hear them describe such a visit an absolute disaster just once wouldn’t you!!
